The DC Podcaster Alliance was founded to help bring podcasters of all experience levels together. The group fosters an open community focussed on sharing experiences and professional knowledge. The group meets in the greater Washington, DC area and is open to both podcasters and those interested in finding out more about podcasting.

Podcasting is another name for audio and video blogging (the word netcasting or webisode used by some). The general idea is that audio or video content is posted that someone can subscribe to. This means essentially creating a channel, one that has audio, video, or print content that can be automatically downloaded to a subscribers’ computer or media player. All of this can occur without the need for e-mail blasts, people logging into websites, or expensive shipping bills.
